Dr. Xiaoliang Li teaches Chinese in the School of Modern Languages at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She designed Georgia’s online Chinese language course, and teaches a course with Feiling Wang on contemporary topics with Chinese as the language of discourse at Georgia Tech. She also designed an innovative, interactive CD program for learning Chinese characters called Chinese Characters Primer. Her numerous research projects relate to linguistics, focusing on how people acquire a second language and why Chinese syntax is structured the way it is. She also is working on a project based on solders’ letters written during the U.S.-Vietnamese and Sino-Vietnamese wars in the1960s and 1970s. Dr. Li’s Ph.D. is from the University of Virginia.
