Xinxin Yang teaches Chinese culture at Emory University. She earned her Ph.D. in Communication from the Media School of Indiana University Bloomington, with a Ph.D. minor in Global Media Industry. Her teaching and research interests include modern and contemporary Chinese media, literature and culture, Chinese diaspora, Asian American studies, International/intercultural communication. Currently, she is working on a book manuscript based on her dissertation. She has a book chapter, titled “Chasing Dreams in the U.S.: Contemporary Chinese Ethnic Media Journalists and Their Roles”, was published by Routledge in 2018.
