Qi Wang

Qi Wang is associate professor in the School of Literature, Media and Communications at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Wang holds a Ph.D in Film and Television (2008, UCLA), M.S. in Comparative Media Studies (2002, MIT), M.L. in International Communication (1999, Peking University), and B.A. in English Literature (1996, Peking University).  Her research interests include history, memory, subjectivity and spatiality in cinema and media; Chinese-language cinema; documentary; Cold War Asian Cinema; dance film. Her first book, Memory, Subjectivity and Independent Chinese Cinema, is published by Edinburgh University Press in 2014. Her articles appear in Asian Cinema, Journal of Chinese Cinemas, positions: asia critique as well as others. She also (co-)curated the 2008 REEL CHINA Documentary Biennial (New York and Shanghai) and the 2011 Independent Chinese Cinema series at High Museum (Atlanta).
