Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Ho Szu-YinSince 2008 when Taiwan and China embarked upon their current path of rapprochement, not only had China signed a free trade agreement with Taiwan, but also sent purchase missions and millions of tourists to Taiwan. For Taiwan China is both adversary and profits at the gate. With empirical data I will talk about how China uses its enormous economic power to induce, deter, or possibly coerce Taiwan. My findings contribute to a larger literature on economic statecraft and security in the field of International political economy.
