China’s Quest: The History of the Foreign Relations of the People’s Republic of China

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Over its 65-year history, the People’s Republic of China has evolved into a complex great power, with a rich history that had yet to be fully explored. China’s Quest “knits together thick descriptions of events in China from 1949 until today into a clear, compelling narrative,” Foreign Affairs raves.

Join Dr. John Garver as he presents his telling of China through its modern leaders, their policies, and the implications that have left their mark on the China we see today. He will be joined by Dr. Dalton Lin of the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, who will provide comments and insight into this fantastic read.

Light refreshments will be provided. Copies of China’s Quest will be available for purchase and signing at the presentation courtesy of Barnes and Noble at Georgia Tech.

Sponsored by the Center for International Strategy, Technology and Policy, and the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs.

Dr. John Garver is Professor Emeritus in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at the Georgia Institute of Technology, specializing in China’s foreign relations. He is a member of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, has testified before the U.S. Congress, and is the author of twelve books and seventy–five refereed articles and book chapters dealing with China’s foreign relations.  Dr. Garver is also an Associate of the China Research Center.
