Dr. Hanchao Lu received his PhD in History from the University of California, Los Angeles. He joined the Georgia Tech faculty as an Assistant Professor in the School of History and Sociology in 1994 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1996 and Professor in 2001. He served as Director of Graduate Studies in Tech’s School of History and Sociology from 2004 to 08. He served as the president of the Chinese Historians in the United States (CHUS) and was a visiting fellow of the East Asian Institute, Singapore.
