Speaker BIO:
Dr. Wang Zhenyao is the director of the Center for Philanthropy Research at Beijing Normal University. Prior to his current post, he served as the director of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Security in China's Ministry of Civil Affairs. His previous posts at the Ministry of Civil Affairs include director of the Department of Disaster and Poverty Relief and deputy director of the Department of Basic-level Governance. Dr. Wang has also served as director of the Office of National Disaster Reduction and the Center for National Disaster Reduction.
Dr. Wang received an MA in political science from Huazhong Normal University, an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a JD from Peking University.
