Georgia China Alliance “Connector” Series

For registration and information on all of the Connector Series go to www.georgiachina.com.

In the past few years, a number of high profile connections between Georgia and China have been initiated and strengthened. Delta Airlines now flies non-stop from Atlanta to Shanghai. Several significant inbound investments from Chinese companies have been announced. Georgia's ports are growing rapidly thanks in large part to China-related activity.

While we celebrate these accomplishments and the attention they have given the Georgia-China relationship, the ties our state has with China are much deeper. Our state is blessed with a variety of individuals and institutions whose work creates further ties between Georgia and China, benefiting all of us.

These "connectors" deserve to be highlighted, celebrated, and have a chance to share their story. That's why we've introduced the Georgia-China Connectors Series. This series of events will feature a variety of individuals whose accomplishments and activities may not always hit the front page of the newspaper, but are notably and worthy of your attention nonetheless.

Details on our first few events are outlined below. We look forward to seeing you there.

“The Confucius Institute at Kennesaw State University”

Featured Speaker: Ken Jin, Director of International Programs at Kennesaw State University and GCA Board Member

Georgia is fortunate to have two different Confucius Institutes, part of a global network of about 200 educational and cultural centers, funded by the Chinese national government, which promotes better understanding of China. Offering classes, events, and other initiatives promoting China's language and culture, both Confucius Institutes in Georgia will play a unique role in creating and strengthening ties between our state and China.

GCA Board Member Ken Jin is leading the efforts of Kennesaw State University to establish Georgia's second Confucius Institute. Please join us as Ken discusses his plans for this important initiative. Appropriately, this meeting will occur on China's National Day.
