Kathy Williams Chiang

Kathy Williams Chiang, founder of Stratefit Consulting, a business analysis and strategic planning consultancy, helps firms connect decisions to data. Stratefit helps clients listen to the voice of the business and voice of the customer encoded in the data of each and every one of their business transactions.

Over the past 10 years, Ms Chiang led over 100 operations management teams through Business Planning War Rooms and Business Dynamics workshops to craft strategies that delivered sustained revenue and profit growth in the double digits and in several cases greater than 50%. She drove the implementation of a major Product Complexity Management program that delivered $6 million to the bottom line in the first year and worked on business development teams that delivered over $2 billion in successful projects covering business acquisition, start up operations, and service expansion. Selected for a year-long Lean Training Program, including a study trip to Japan, Ms Chiang is as comfortable on the shop floor as in the board room.

With more than 20 years experience in Strategic Planning and Analysis, Ms Chiang has senior management experience in the equipment manufacturing and telecommunications service industries. She served as the Vice President for Business and Operations Planning at Acuity Brands Lighting, a $2 billion lighting fixture manufacturer, working with operations management teams on business improvement projects in the US, Mexico, UK and Spain. She managed Strategy and Business Development teams for BellSouth Corporation (acquired by ATT) in the International unit supporting operations in 11 Latin American countries and China. In addition to working on over $1 billion of business development projects, she established the financial and planning operations for BellSouth China’s $30 million joint venture in Beijing, China. Prior to joining BellSouth, Ms Chiang worked in business development for Portman Overseas, the international real estate development arm for John Portman and Associates in their offices in Atlanta, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Ms. Chiang, a native of New Orleans, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, summa cum laude with University honors (4.0), from Louisiana State University, as well as a MBA from Tulane University and is member of Phi Beta Kappa and Mensa. Among the first wave of Americans to enter China following normalization of relations, Ms Chiang lived in northeast China under challenging conditions for two years teaching English, learning Mandarin Chinese and traveling extensively throughout China. Over her career, she has worked in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Beijing and is active in the greater Atlanta Chinese community serving on the deacon board for Atlanta Chinese Christian Church North and on the advisory board for the China Research Center. Ms Chiang is an avid international traveler and enjoys creating music videos of her trips.
